a day off?

so i decided, rather than the boring title of day x, that i might post a note more pertinant name for each post. there are really two reasons for this, one being that dates dont matter too much out here, and the other that i cant remember which day is which some times.
so anyways, today was supposed to be my day off, yesterday is a semi-day off, but i offered to work for a lady so she could spend some time with her friend from out of town. of course, the weather deigned to be gorgeous today, and since there were cleaning needs pressing, i did laundry instead of getting to a bike ride. i think i shall get more lucky tomorrow.
the only bad thing is i think the lady i was workng for was undermining the other supervisor at this store. .which i am not sure what to do about. shes kind of a crabby woman (the one complaining that is) and the other supervisor has had it with her scheduling, and general ill temper. hopefully it calms down after crabby gets a few days off.

Day ?

First actual service today! Yay! No major hitches other then that dylan had never read aloud the names of all the languages in acts 2:1-13. Oops! Dan says the sermon went well which is good. It was basically " the holy spirit will hit you whether you like it or not" or, "expect the unexpected".
Dan and I did a bunch of stuff today, including a nature cruise, an 8 mile pedal bike ride, and a 1 hour motorcycle ride. So nice to be warm enough to wear tanktops!

Day three

Four I will post tomorrow. Not a lot to report about yesterday. Told dad I would need the music for shout to the lord and he is snail mailing it. It rained all day yesterday so it was pretty slow at work. I do have one thing of note to mention. When people ask me how I got here I've been telling them I found the job online. Do you think I should be more honest about my mission?

Day three

So I didn't post yesterday, and I don't really have a good excuse for it. Oh well, shit happens. But on Sunday I had a few good discussions with people about the ministry and god in general. One lady from our fathers church in hulls cove seemed very intrigued when I made my announcement, and I will remember to bring info for her this coming Sunday.
When I went to the jordan pond house (JPH) to meet up with dylan to plan the service a gentleman came and talked to us about his experience with acmnp four years prior. It might have been part of the "problem group" I was warned about by ian, my ministry contact here. But he's clearly on the right path now, said he had had a problem with alcohol and was just heading out to aa. I've never had someone stop me flat to tell me something like that, so I must be sending the right vibe? Anyways, I invited him to come and join us, and he said he would. I even invited him on the team, but he declined politely. Maybe there's some bad juju there.
On to yesterday.
Yesterday I did some errands and went on a "lobster & seal" cruise in bar harbor. The cruise was wonderful, we saw all sorts of seals, four or five juvie bald eagles, and a host of different nesting birds, as well as learning about lobsters. Then I went beach combing and meandered back home to make pasta. Mmmmmm.

Day 1, sorta

technically this is day 31 or something like that, and since its midnight its not even the first sunday anymore. but details. this blog will be about my adventures in acadia ntl park with acmnp. in adance i apologize about spelling, and caps, but most of these will likely done through the wonder of smart phone. i will write more tomorrow, but my thumbs keep hitting extra letters. today was a good day despite no onein the fog (no suprise there? so i only have good things to say. on a positive end note the response to my public announcement at our father's episcopal church and elsewhere has been overwhelmingly positive. thanks for all the support and love!
